The accounts head says: "We have 80 document types. Invoices, IDs, receipts, contracts, shipping bills. We need one platform that extracts all of them." That is a Docsumo question. Docsumo is a horizontal IDP platform. It extracts many document types. It trains on samples. It ships JSON. It is a good product for many doc types.
The question they are usually asking when they call us is different: "We have 200 suppliers sending photocopies every month. The photocopies are 150 dpi, crooked, phone photos. We need them in Tally. The GSTIN has to be right. The total has to close." That is a different machine. That is what EntryLedger does.
Docsumo: extract many doc types into JSON. EntryLedger: extract GST photocopies into Tally-import files, with checksum and arithmetic gates. If you need the first, buy Docsumo. If you need the second, compare. If you need both, that is two products. We will not pretend we are the first.
What Docsumo is good at
Train on two samples. Extract many fields. Ship JSON. Build custom workflows for different document types. That is the product. If your company processes invoices, purchase orders, delivery notes, and customs declarations, Docsumo's breadth is real. Their site is docsumo.com. Check their pricing there. I will not invent their numbers.
The JSON is the starting point. Someone still has to map vendor to ledger, GST ledgers, voucher type, date format, and Tally's import columns. That someone is you, or a SI, or a six-week project. EntryLedger's job is the mapping ritual you already have: batch by day or vendor, CSV / XML that fits the current import.
Where Docsumo does not go
Docsumo does not run GSTIN Mod-36. It does not check HSN format against a directory. It does not verify arithmetic within plus/minus 1 rupee. It does not know CGST vs IGST from the state codes. Those are EntryLedger's gates. Docsumo is a generalist. EntryLedger is a specialist. Generalists are better when you have many doc types. Specialists are better when you have one doc type and the cost of getting it wrong is ITC.
If you buy Docsumo for GST invoices and do not add a math gate, you are trusting OCR to prove the total. That is a choice. It is not what we would recommend. See totals for what arithmetic closure means.

Price
Docsumo pricing: their site. EntryLedger: ₹1.40 a page, ₹1.20 beyond 40,000. At 40,000 pages that is ₹56,000. Do not compare on price alone. Compare on what the gate catches. If Docsumo's JSON plus your custom mapping plus a math check equals ₹56,000, they are the same price. If it is more, they are more. If they catch things we do not (multi-language, many doc types), they are worth more. The answer depends on your paper.
Bake-off
Same 500 photocopies. Both systems. Spreadsheet with: invoice id, GSTIN, total, whether arithmetic closed, whether a human touched it. Count auto-exports that were actually correct. That count is the product. Demo accuracy on a clean PDF is not.
If Docsumo wins on your paper, buy Docsumo. If they win on clean PDFs and lose on the 150 dpi pile, that is the wedge. The wedge is arithmetic on photocopies, not a feature list.
